Technical (and other) Information About This Site

This site was put together by Trevor (me). I chose the colours, laid it out, and created its content.

It was my intention to create a simple but appealing site which did not depend or require anything more than simple web functionality. In other words you won't need JavaScript, Java, nor Flash to see any parts of this site. This site was tested (and appears to work okay) with the Konquerer web browser.

Originally I had wanted to put together a fancier site using either PHP or perhaps PHP/Nuke. However, it appears as though PHP is perhaps too young a language. There are just too many advisories that come out with regards to its use. Having to check my code over and over again and having to compile and install the latest and greatest every other day just to avoid security holes is simply much more work than this site is supposed to be. I'm supposed to be busily working away learning new things and coding, not working 24 hours a day just to keep this site up. As a result I've decided to move to a simpler approach using server-side includes instead.

The graphic elements of this site were also created by me (except for the logos linking you to other people's work). To create them I used Deneba's Canvas application version 5.0.3 on an Apple PowerMac 8500 running MacOS 8.1. Of course I have Linux's netatalk setup so I can easily share my graphic files from my Mac with the work I'm doing on Linux.
